Zero tolerance for extremism, including on the internet, must be introduced in Slovakia via stricter laws, President Andrej Kiska, Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) and Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) stated at a public debate on Wednesday. According to Kiska, many of those who vote for the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) do so as a cry for help against the injustice that they have been suffering in various forms. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini announced that he would hold talks with operators of websites that frequently contain discussions challenging some of the fundamental human rights. Parliamentary chair Andrej Danko wants to fight extremism by proposing new legislation that limits MPs' immunity for their statements and make the activity of political parties more transparent.
