Pride Košice along with beatification

Around twenty different events and performances have been prepared for the sixth Pride Košice festival that began this past Saturday and will culminate with the traditional march for the rights of LGBTI people on Saturday September 1. In addition to the pride parade on Saturday, the beatification of Anna Kolesarova is also set to take place on this day in Kosice. "Unfortunately, there are some voices that see a contradiction in these two events, and they are artificially putting them against each other. They even demanded that the Pride event be shifted to another day. We categorically reject this, because the events don't exclude each other in terms of values, and are co-ordinated with the help of the police so as to cause the least obstacles possible," said the organiser of Pride Košice, director Robert Furiel.
