Condolences to Bulgaria over bus crash

Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini sent a telegram of condolence to his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov in connection with the tragic accident involving a tourist bus that occurred near the town of Svoge, about 40 kilometres north of Sofia, on Saturday. Slovak Prime minister expressed sympathy for and solidarity with the relatives and friends of the victims as well as all Bulgarian citizens. He also wished an early recovery to the wounded. Bulgarian Health Minister Kiril Ananiev said on Sunday that the number of victims in the bus crash had risen to at least 16. The number of injured people is 26, while doctors say that the condition of several of them is critical. Official sources say that the accident happened near Svoge at 5:10 p.m. Central European Summer Time on Saturday. The bus for so-far unknown reasons drove off a winding road, overturning and skidding about 20 metres onto a lower road. Before that, however, it crashed into four cars, added the police. According to the media, only Bulgarians were on board.
