Film about Jan Palach is offer to meet him in person

The Czech-Slovak film 'Jan Palach' dealing with the story of a student who set himself on fire in Prague in 1969 in protest against the 1968 invasion, was presented by its producers and actors in Bratislava on Thursday. The film directed by Robert Sedláček and written by Eva Kantůrková describes the circumstances that turned Palach from a loving son, a devoted friend and sensitive, thinking student of philosophy into 'torch number 1'. "There are many Palachs in your [Slovak] and our [Czech] nation, we just don't know about them, they weren't that lucky. Palach is an icon, but the ashes of others who died for their ideals, convictions, but also for their mistakes, float above us in the air," commented the Czech director, adding that the film is a kind of offer to meet Jan Palach.
