Better treatment for cancer patients

The National Cancer Programme was approved by the Slovak government on Wednesday. Its goal is to reduce the incidence and mortality of cancer patients as well as to improve their quality of life. "Tumour diseases are the second most frequent cause of death in the Slovak Republic, and the incidence of new cancers is rising steadily in the Slovak Republic, with a slight decrease in mortality being recorded only for some forms of cancer," explains the Health Ministry.
