OLANO against providing data from bank accounts to the state

The opposition OLANO movement demands the withdrawal of a draft proposal by the finance department introducing the duty for banks to send information on all transactions from the accounts of corporate entities and entrepreneurs to the Financial Administration. According to MP Eduard Heger, the adoption of such a change would bring with it the risk of entrepreneurs being bullied and persecuted. If the state wants to gain better access to such information, the measures should only apply to entities suspected of tax fraud. As he said, at present the Financial Administration already has sufficient tools to identify tax fraudsters, whether in the form of VAT control statements, tax returns, or requesting full accounting. The Finance Ministry says that it is premature to talk about what the amendment to the law will eventually look like.
