A total of 72 percent of people use public transport in Bratislava on average once a week, while 41 percent of passengers use it on a daily basis, according to a survey conducted by the Focus agency in the second half of May. According to the poll, more than half of people in Bratislava travel by public transport mainly to get to and from work, followed by shopping, to see doctors and go to offices and to visit family and friends. The survey also showed that some 64 percent of the respondents are satisfied with public transport, whereas around 35 percent expressed their dissatisfaction with the service. The comfort of using one's own car was the most common reason for which people do not want to travel by public transport in general. One quarter of the respondents also pointed to the insufficient number of bus and tram stops as well as to timetables that do not match the needs of passengers.
