New Eurostat figures showed that Slovakia ranks eighth in terms of the cheapest electricity price in the EU for 2017 (14 cents for 1 kWh) while the country took ninth place in terms of gas prices (4 cents). Andrej Lednár, the statutory representative of Prvá Energetická explained that there are several reasons for lower prices in Slovakia compared to neighbouring countries.
