The Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry will provide financial humanitarian aid to help deal with the aftermath of the wildfires that broke out in Greece on July 23, TASR learnt from the ministry's press department on Tuesday. The wildfires claimed 92 lives with 14 people still missing. 6,880 hectares of forested land and inhabited areas were destroyed. "A financial contribution from the ministry's official development aid fund will be provided to the two local governments that were affected by the wildfires the most - the municipality of Marathonos and the town of Rafina, which will get €25,000 each," said the press department. The aid is mainly destined for the local population and for renewing infrastructure destroyed by the wildfires.
