Jánošík days folk fest attracts record attendance

The 56th edition of the International folk festival Jánošík days in the village of Terchová, Žilina region, last week attracted 82,000 people, said the organiser of the event, Peter Cabadaj. Thus the record attendance of 75,000 people from 2004 and 2009 was broken. Cabadaj sees the reason behind the large number of attendants as the good weather and extended program. This year's edition took place between August 2nd and August 5th and marked the 330th anniversary of the birth of Jánošík, the alleged Slovak Robin Hood.
