As of Monday, Slovak municipalities outside the Bratislava region can apply for a non-refundable financial contribution to set up free WiFi zones in public spaces. Local authorities can get a maximum of €15,000 per project but will have to contribute 5 percent of the cost of the project from their own resources. In the first round, almost 800 towns and villages can get free WiFi, and if the demand is higher, a second round will be launched.
