Plans to dissolve the main far-right party

An expert commission that would draft legislation against the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) should be set up according to the Speaker of Parliament and leader of the co-governing Slovak National Party (SNS) Andrej Danko. "Prosecutor-General Jaromír Čižnár appealed to the Supreme Court in this matter last year, but the court hasn't even set a date yet for a trial regarding the dissolution of the party", said Danko, who thinks the current legislation is weak. Meanwhile Our Slovakia party leader Marian Kotleba faces criminal charges for donating to families in need cheques for the amount of €1,488 - a symbolic figure in neo-Nazi communities. This number is produced by merging the figures 14 (hinting to the Fourteen Words of American white supremacist David Lane "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children") and 88 (hinting to the initials of the Nazi salute). Kotleba described the charges as a "purpose-built farce".
