Yearly food prices in Slovakia grew by 5.4 percent in the first half of 2018, which is the highest increase within the EU, reported the Slovak Farmers Association analyst Eva Sadovská the other day, citing information from Eurostat. Food prices in Slovakia are affected by the country's economic development. "One of the factors that has an influence on the price of Slovak groceries is the uneven proportion of imported groceries and domestic ones that end up on the shelves of our supermarkets," she explained.
