On Monday, Slovak Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš suggested that the General Prosecutors Office should investigate whether the activities of the paramilitary organisation Slovenskí Branci are or are not a threat to the security of the Slovak Republic, and are not contrary to current laws. Slovenskí Branci caught the attention of the media last week. As the Denník N daily wrote, the organisation had confirmed for the daily that in the newly opened premises belonging to the pro-Kremlin Night Wolves bikers, they had trained using transporters borrowed from the Military Historical Institute. Earlier in the week, Gajdoš temporarily suspended head of the institute Miroslav Čaplovič, for lending exhibits to the association owned by the businessman Jozef Hambálek, who recently founded the Slovak branch of the Night Wolves. As expert Jaroslav Naď said, the suspension is supposed to cover other problem. "According to my information these functioning transporters were received by Mr. Hambálek on the initiative of the Defence Ministry during the second government of Robert Fico," said Naď. Fico led his second government from 2012 to 2016.
