Unemployment rate increased after two years of falling

In June, the unemployment rate in Slovakia stood at 5.43%, which was up by 0.06 percentage points (p.p.) month-on-month. After hitting a historical minimum in May 2018, this was the first month-on-month rise in unemployment after two years. According to Labour Minister Ján Richter, the increase can be ascribed to university graduates signing on at labour offices.
