Bratislava Public Transport company lacks 50 drivers

As Bratislava City Transport Company (DPB) has been short of 50 drivers for a long time, it has started to search for employees in Ukraine, with some 30 new drivers from there expected to come to Bratislava by the beginning of September, said Marian Áč, a spokesperson for the company. He adds that despite measures to stabilise staff and attract new drivers, over 200 employees out of the total of 1,500 leave the company each year mainly as a result of retirement and health-related problems. The company offers several benefits to new drivers, such as recruitment bonuses, the opportunity to obtain the required driving licence for free, fare discounts and financial subsidies for accommodation.
