The Slovak National Gallery opened the monographic double exhibition FILLA - FULLA | The Artist´s Fate on Tuesday. It was prepared as part of its joint series with the Moravian Gallery in Brno - Made in Czechoslovakia - commemorating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic. Its subjects are two iconic figures of Czech and Slovak modern art with similar surnames: Emil Filla and Ľudovít Fulla. Even though these artists were not precisely contemporaries - Filla was two decades older than Fulla -, their positions in establishing artistic modernism in both Czech and Slovak circles were essential. The exhibition can be seen until 21st October.
