Fuels are one of the reasons for shopping tourism as well as cheap groceries, said Lucia Dovalová, analyst from Poštová Banka. According to her, Slovaks pay the highest prices for fuel and diesel of all citizens within the Visegrad Four group of countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia). Looking at the V4, the cheapest place to fill up is in Poland. The prices of fuel are 10% lower and diesel is cheaper by 17% than in Slovakia. Moreover, filling up in Austria also saves Slovaks money.
