Slovakia signs action plan on partnership with France

An Action Plan of Slovak-French Partnership for 2018-20, which aims to strengthen both political and economic cooperation was signed by Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini and French President Emanuel Macron in Paris on Saturday. The politicians also discussed strengthening mutual relations, economic co-operation and the climate. Moreover, Pellegrini declared the Slovak Government's openness to French arguments on the reform of the euro area. Pellegrini, the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and French Minister for the Armed Forces Florence Parly subsequently went to a ceremony in Darney where 100 years ago the then French President Raymond Poincare handed over to the Czechoslovak Army its "state flag". He did so on June 30, 1918 in Darney, alongside Edward Benes, one of the founders of the Czechoslovak National Council.
