The countries of the Western Balkans should be given clear hope as to when they can expect to become EU members, thinks Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD). "If we only continue to tell them endlessly that they have good prospects but need to carry out individual reforms first; if we open individual chapters with them but then fail to intimate that once they meet them they'll really become members, then we're not employing the right approach," stated Pellegrini. "We think that the Western Balkans has no other prospects than the EU, however," added the prime minister.
