The lack of labour force in Slovakia is alarming, with Club 500 (an association of companies with at least 500 employees) saying that it's important to look for people among the long-term unemployed and motivate them to work, TASR learnt on Tuesday. Employers point out that the current labour shortage situation in Slovakia is unsustainable and they are confronted with having to reject certain contracts due to the lack of labour. Several members of the association were in the past forced to move some of their contracts to their foreign companies. "We consider the prime minister's statements about putting more pressure on people who don't want to work by reducing social benefits to be a step in the right direction. It isn't really a problem today to hire anyone who wants to work," said Club 500 executive director Tibor Gregor.
