Report on Slovak youth

Education Minister Martina Lubyová presented the Report on Youth in Parliament on Thursday. The document maps the challenges and needs of the young in the country every 4 years in order to form policies for working with this group of citizens in the future. At the end of 2017, people aged up to 30 made up 35,5% of the Slovak Republic's population. According to the Minister, one of the Report's findings shows that the number of young people becoming involved in politics is low, as well as those becoming involved in voluntary work. According to EUROSTAT statistics, 12,8% of citizens of the EU were participating in political life through active citizenship in 2015, while in Slovakia the figure was 2,8% in that year. The Report on Youth was presented at the 2MB conference that is taking place in Bratislava. The conference will provide data for the Action plan of the Concept of developing work with youth for the years 2019 - 2020.
