Digital Coalition gains 15 new members

A total of 15 new members joined the National Coalition for Digital Skills and Jobs in Slovakia known as the Digital Coalition on Tuesday, so its ranks swelled to 52 members. At a session held that day, a great deal of attention was given to changes needed in Slovak IT education. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, Vice-premier for Investments and Informatisation Richard Raši (both Smer-SD) both attended the session. Pellegrini believes more people should study IT-related fields. He also said that even though it's a well-paid job, there is still a lack of experts in this sector. Raši said that his office, which initiated the creation of the Digital Coalition in September 2017 along with the IT Association of Slovakia, has been trying to meet its commitments as quickly as possible. "We realise that while boosting the digital skills of Slovaks, time is against us - if we don't start addressing the challenges ahead of us, it will be difficult to catch a train that has already left the station," said Raši.
