A team of American military experts will come to Slovakia this summer to provide training and consultation to the Slovak Armed Forces, with Parliament having approved their presence in Slovakia with 113 votes on Tuesday following the Government's consent. The objective of the Civil Affairs team's presence in Slovakia is to increase mutual interoperability as well as to develop military capabilities within the Slovak Armed Forces, stated Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš (Slovak National Party). The team will feature a maximum of four members from the US Armed Forces and a maximum of two military vehicles. The Civil Affairs team will be based in Martin (Žilina region) as of July 1 for a period of 18 months. All of the costs related to the presence of the team in Slovakia will be paid by the USA.
