A 28 year old man in the northern Slovak town of Žilina was caught with more than 40 grams of marijuana on Monday, resulting in a potential prison sentence of up to ten years. Radko Moravčík, spokesperson for the Žilina Regional Police Directorate stated that the individual, known as Ladislav, was caught with 80 'doses' of marijuana. A single dose is typically classified as including at least 500 mg of cannabis, with the total haul being approximately 40 grams, or a small bowl full. Moravčík added that police had carried out several inspections in Žilina and have safely secured the illegal substance. A police investigator has subsequently accused 28-year-old Ladislav of the illicit manufacture of drugs and poisons, and their possession and trafficking. "If found guilty, he faces a prison sentence of between three to ten years," stated Moravčík, adding that a request has been processed to place the accused into custody.
