EU-harmonised inflation at 2.7% in May

EU-harmonised inflation in Slovakia stood at 2.7% year-on-year in May, according to the Slovak Statistics Office. Meanwhile, the average harmonised inflation rate for the 12-month period ending in May 2018 amounted to 2.1%. As for monthly developments in May, the index of consumer prices was mainly influenced by the following increases: furniture, household equipment and regular household maintenance clothing and footwear, miscellaneous goods and services, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, and restaurants and hotels. Conversely, downward pressure on prices month-on-month was exerted in the following categories: food products and non-alcoholic beverages and transport.
