Representatives of the Entrepreneurs Association of Slovakia (ZPS) and the Slovak Self-employed Association (SZZ) asked Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) on Thursday to use his power to lower the reach of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The law regarding personal data safety has been imposed by European Parliament and the European Union Council. Representatives of Slovak employers claim that micro, small and medium-sized companies will suffer the most from the legislation's implementation. Other issues mentioned included increased administration processes and higher expenses rising to tens of millions of euro (according to the Slovak Business Agency's Better Regulation Centre calculations).
