Former Prime Minister condemns killing of Filipino in Bratislava

Smer-SD party leader Robert Fico spoke out about the attack on Filipino citizen Henry Acorda, who died after he was attacked by a Slovak man in the centre of Bratislava, at a press conference on Tuesday. Fico said that any killing should be condemned, even more so if the victim was protecting girls from public harassment. Deputy chairman of the party Robert Kaliňák followed up Fico's statement by expressing his belief that the perpetrator will be fairly brought to justice. Juraj H., 28, from Dunajská Streda district (Trnava region), allegedly attacked Acorda from the Philippines on Obchodná Street in Bratislava on May 26. Henry had confronted him, telling him to stop harassing two women. He died from his injuries on Thursday, 31 May.
