The amount of financial support for parents who care for a child with a severe disability should be increased to €100 per month from the current level of €49.80, according to a draft bill to be discussed in Parliament this week. The draft, which has already been approved by MPs from the social committee, proposes that the hourly rate for personal assistance should be increased to €3.82. The changes are expected to cost an additional €40 million per year.
