A far-right civic association called the Slovak Revival Movement (SHO) wishes to request the Interior Ministry to register it as a political party, as it has met the legal prerequisite of collecting 10,000 public signatures, stated its leader Róbert Švec for the press agency TASR. Founded 14 years ago, the movement is known for its political leanings towards the Slovak fascist state that existed during WWII and promotes pro-Russian propagandistic ideas about Slavic brotherhood. The movement made headlines in 2016 by publishing a list of people who, according to them, "disseminate Brussels propaganda on the soil of our homeland". The list included President Andrej Kiska, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák, MEPs, and a number of journalists, and writers. The Denník N daily pointed to the fact that several of this movement's sympathisers called on the internet for the people on the list to be hanged. Their leader Róbert Švec has announced its candidacy for next year's presidential elections.
