Serbia should be among first countries to join EU, says Parliament Chair

Serbia should be one of the first countries to be accepted by the European Union as part of its further enlargement, said Slovak Parliamentary Chairman Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) on day one of his two-day visit to Serbia on Wednesday. Speaking after meeting Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Danko praised the fact that the country has preserved the status of its large Slovak ethnic minority, with the Slovak language being used officially as well. On Thursday, Danko is scheduled to be received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Parliamentary Chair Maja Gojković. He's also set to deliver a speech in Parliament and meet representatives of the Slovak community in Serbia.
