Cooperation between Norway and Slovakia in research into climate change could be strengthened, said Slovak Environment Ministry State Secretary Norbert Kurilla during his visit to Norway along with President Andrej Kiska. Kiska and his entourage were in the city of Bergen on Wednesday to see the Bjerkness climate research centre. "I consider this visit to be a display of a positive approach to information exchange. Norway is a leading country in climate modelling and research, far ahead of our existing capacities, while we'd be happy to launch bilateral contacts after this visit," said Kurilla. The state secretary noted that Slovakia's Cabinet in March approved an action plan to tackle the effects of drought in the next three years, while it also focuses on introducing measures to prevent floods.
