A liaison officer from Frontex (the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union) will be stationed in Bratislava, the Interior Ministry's Department has told TASR. This stems from the Memorandum on Understanding between the Slovak Interior Ministry and Frontex, singed by Interior Minister Denisa Saková (Smer-SD) and Frontex's Executive Director Fabrice Leggeri in Luxembourg on Tuesday. According to the memorandum, the liaison officer will have regular access to all necessary information in Slovakia. This will apply to information concerning situations, trends and potential threats on the EU's external border, cross-border crime and terrorism and the situation in the field of return policy. The Frontex employee will have access to the top management of authorities that are in charge of border management, enforcing the law and the return policy.
