Over the next four years Slovakia and France want to cooperate in various fields, such as energy and tourism, according to the action plan on the Slovak-French strategic partnership for 2018-2022 approved by the Cabinet at its regular session on Wednesday. "The two countries agree on positions in several fields decisive for the future of the European Union, such as its social dimension, the euro's strengthening, external activities of the EU, as well as European defence," reads the document. Therefore, the two countries want to develop political cooperation and "contribute towards deepening cooperation within the EU". Further room for cooperation includes, for example, security, trade, agriculture, innovation and public administration, within which Slovakia and France want to cooperate in training judges and prosecutors and supporting active cooperation within the European prosecution. They also want to increase the effectiveness of dialogue on the issue of migration in connection with preparing the joint European asylum system's reform.
