Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan to be Buried with Military Honours

The two Slovak soldiers killed on Friday in a bomb attack on a military convoy in Kabul will be buried with full military honours, a spokesperson for the Defence Ministry confirmed. The date of the ceremony is not yet known.

Their bodies were brought back to Slovakia on Sunday evening. The two belonged to the 5th Special Operations Regiment of the Slovak Army based in Žilina and began their mission in Afghanistan in November this year. They were part of a five-member Slovak group in charge of preparing the base in Kabul for the arrival of 78 Slovak soldiers by January 1, 2014.
