Imposing tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from the EU to the US is bad news for international trade, said Slovak Economy Minister Peter Žiga in his reaction to the move by US President Donald Trump. "Slovakia backs the united action of the EU and the retaliatory moves by the European Commission regarding selected American goods," stated Žiga in a social media post. He does not expect any direct impact on Slovak producers. "Nevertheless, there might be a secondary impact if those EU states which will not be able to export to the US place their production in the Union," warned the Slovak Economy Minister.
