The Lučenec and Poltar districts, which are among the least developed in the country, will receive an additional €1 million each from the state budget to enable mayors to carry out smaller renovations and projects in towns and villages. The Government allocated these funds on top of the almost €185 million already earmarked for boosting employment and implementing development action plans in the region. Their goal is to create more than 2,000 new jobs in these districts by 2020. So far, it has reached 43 percent of the target.
