Slovakia is going to receive 10% less from the cohesion funds for the 2021-2027 period, compared to the current programming period. This was stated by EC Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič. According to the European Commission's conversion table, this means € 13.3 billion in current prices for the next seven-year budget period, following the European Commission's financial proposal for cohesion policy under the forthcoming EU long-term budget. According to Šefčovič, despite the fall in resources, Slovakia and Estonia will be the largest fund recipients in the net amount of € 310 per capita for one year. He pointed out that the changes in cohesion policy were also affected by the United Kingdom's planned exit - a big net contributor - from the EU and also by the fact that Slovakia has been economically successful over the past seven years and has reached 77% of the EU's economic average.
