Slovak population getting older

The average age of Slovakia's inhabitants was 40 years and six months last year, four months higher than in the previous one, according to the Slovak Statistics Office. Its latest data show that Slovakia's population continues an ageing trend, as half of it is already over 40 years old. In addition to this, the percentage of people who are 65 or older is only 0.1 percent lower than that of children.
