Most foreign owners of Slovak firms are Czech

The largest group of foreign owners of Slovak companies comes from the Czech Republic, according to an analysis by the consulting firm Bisnode. Currently, Czech entrepreneurs own 10,341 companies in Slovakia, which is almost 5 percent more than last year. Expansion onto the Slovak market, according to Bisnode, is easier for Czech entrepreneurs than onto other markets. An important factor is also the common history, which plays in the hands of strategic intentions of companies to open their business eastwards. Czechs are followed by owners from Hungary (10,228) and Austria (3,904).
