Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Gabriela Matečná (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) survived a no-confidence motion in Parliament on Thursday. 60 MPs voted for her to be ousted, 70 supported her in the post while 4 MPs abstained from the vote. The Opposition was accusing Matečná of being responsible as minister for frauds involving subsidies coming from the EU's Common Agricultural Policy and also for dubious moves with land ownership back when she served as the Slovak Land Fund director.
