World Competitiveness Yearbook: Slovakia falls by four places

Slovakia's competitive economy ranking moved down by four places from last year in the latest World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) research, Martin Reguli from the F.A. Hayek Foundation informed the TASR press agency. As he stated, Slovakia now stands in 55th place out of the 63 evaluated countries. The top three in the 2018 list, according to WCY, are the USA followed by Hong Kong and Singapore. The most successful country in the V4 group was the Czech Republic in 29th place. Slovakia was also outdone by its other V4 partners, i.e. Hungary and Poland. The WCY research monitors the quality of the business environment of 63 countries around the world and compares their competitive ability. The World Competitiveness Yearbook is published by the Swiss Institute for Management Development every year, working with dozens of non-governmental organisations.
