Artist Peter Kalmus was freed by the Košice Court in the case of removing the communist symbols of the hammer and sickle from a memorial to fallen Soviet soldiers in the centre of Košice, eastern Slovakia. According to the judgment, it was not proved that the offense had been committed by the accused. The verdict is not lawful; the district prosecutor appealed against it.
