Interior Minister Denisa Saková (Smer-SD) announced that early next week she would present changes in key police personnel. At the same time on Wednesday she confirmed that the Police Corps vice-president Ľubomír Ábel was due to leave his post at his own volition. The changes in the national police have come following the murders of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée in late February and the subsequent mass public protests, which also resulted in the resignations of then Prime Minister Robert Fico and Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák (both Smer-SD).
