October 30 of this year should be declared a public holiday on which Slovakia will mark the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of the Slovak Nation (also known as the Martin Declaration), according to a proposal submitted by Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) and approved by Government ministers at the Cabinet session on Wednesday. It will be a one-off state holiday to mark the centenary of the Declaration.
