On Monday, all Slovak final exams of high school students called 'maturita' are starting. A total of approximately 43,000 students will take oral tests at over 700 schools. Most of the pupils will be examined in 4 subjects, Slovak language with literature being compulsory for all students and one foreign language being compulsory at general high schools called 'gymnázium'. Students took the first part of the 'maturita, written tests, in March. The oral exams will take place until June 8th, with each school running exams for one week.
