Slovak hockey players bid farewell to the world championships with a victory. In their final match, they beat Belarus 7:4. Their chances to go through to the quarterfinal were dashed by the Swiss team beating France 5:1. The last quarterfinal with a Slovak team was in 2013. The national hockey team led by the Canadian trainer Craig Ramsay ranked 5th in its group gaining 11 points. The next world ice hockey championships will be held in Slovakia with our team playing Austria and Italy among others.
