Parliament evaluates Slovakia’s foreign policy

One of the main priorities of Slovak diplomacy for this and next year is the Presidency of the Višegrad Group (Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic) which starts in July, according to a document to be discussed by Parliament on Tuesday. The annual report on Slovakia's foreign policy identifies Brexit as a challenge since there are currently almost 90,000 Slovaks living in the United Kingdom and Britain is the fifth largest investor in the country. "In the first phase of the negotiations, Slovakia has prioritized a solution on citizens' rights, as well as the financial settlement. The year 2018 will focus primarily on the future of our mutual economic and trade relations in the period after the UK's departure from the EU," reads the report.
