Two researchers from the University of Žilina, Zuzana Kurillová and Michal Gregor, will take part in an internship at the University of California, Berkeley for one semester, wrote the TASR press agency on Sunday. Both scientists focus on the car industry in their work. Kurillová was chosen thanks to her project on monitoring the behaviour of drivers in smart cars, aimed at preventing car accidents. Gregor's project in machine learning is crucial for the development of autonomous vehicles. Their studies, which start this autumn, will be financed by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation. Both scientists agree that for the following three years they will stay and work in Slovakia.
