Dual education in Slovakia needs to become more attractive, coalition and opposition members agreed on TA3's "In Politics" programme on Sunday. Currently, only 3% of students in the country have joined the system. The two sides, however, disagree on how the situation should be improved. The Chair of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Ľubomír Petrák, of the ruling Smer-SD party believes that the main reasons are cuts in financial resources for vocational training, which is now being resolved through an amendment to the law on vocational training. Opposition Ordinary People's Party MP Veronika Remišová believes that there are two main problems - the low quality of secondary vocational schools and a low level of diversification with a focus on the automotive industry.
